The Cornelius String Quartet, deeply rooted in the musical communities of Connecticut and greater New York, features four distinguished artists with extensive careers in concert halls, conservatories, and chamber stages across the U.S. and Europe. They will perform a diverse repertoire including works by Mozart, Glass, and Beethoven. Violinists Hafez Taghavi and Emily Garrison lead the ensemble, bringing exceptional skill and range; Taghavi has graced renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center and serves on faculty at the Interharmony International Music Festival in Italy, while Garrison boasts a Grammy Award-winning recording with the Albany Symphony and the world premiere of Wayne Shorter’s jazz opera, *Iphigenia*. Viola player Jules Chetcuti adds warmth and depth to the performance, and cellist Gjorgj Kroqi, whose musical journey traverses Albania and Austria, anchors the group with precision and authority, also conducting the Sinfonia Orchestra for the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras.
