Join us at the museum on July 25th from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday! On MCM’s most magical day, we invite witches and wizards from all over to join us for this enchanting event at the Mississippi Children’s Museum!
MCM Members can enjoy early entry at 8:00am for a Special Sorting Hat Ceremony!
Get Back-to-School ready – Hogwarts style! Start your journey by sorting into your Hogwart’s House, then step inside the atrium and let the magic of the museum guide you through the rest…
ALL-DAY ACTIVITIES:

House Sorting Game: Participate in our game of chance and discover which house you are in!
House Cup Challenge: Visit activities to earn points & compete for your House! At the end of your visit, add your points to the House Cup. The winner will be announced after the event ends!
Defense Against the Dark Arts: The Dementors have taken over the Underground! Can you help us protect the Museum?
Ollivander’s Wand Shop: Science is magic! Learn about circuitry and use your skills to create a wand that really lights up!
Flourish & Blotts: Visit our library to make House-themed bookmarks to use in your spell-books this year!
Eeylops Owl Emporium | MCM’s Toy Box: Adopt your own Owl from our gift shop. Decorate your pet’s cage and fill out an official adoption certificate. (Additional purchase required.)
SPEW (The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare): Use one of Dobby’s favorite socks to create a sock puppet.
Photobooth: Step into our photobooth and experience the magic of the invisibility cloak.

TIMED ACTIVITIES:

10:00am | Herbology: Join Professor Se’Lah to learn all about plant care and create a mandrake to take home!
10:00am -12:00pm & 1:00pm – 3:00pm | Divination: Create a time capsule to open at the end of the school year and measure how much you have changed!

11:00am & 1:00pm | Potions: Join us for Potions where we will brew some fiery fun!

12:00pm | Transfiguration: In Transfiguration, we will use the power of the sun to transform a special piece of paper into exciting art!
2:00pm | Charms: Create a friendship bracelet to trade and charm your friends!
