Details:
Step into the role of a nature detective, uncovering the clues that beavers leave behind on the landscape. Families will explore the trails with a naturalist, learning how to find, identify, and even 'age' signs like gnawed trees, dams, and lodge work. Along the way, you'll discover how beavers shape wetlands, support biodiversity, and improve water quality. If we're lucky, we might even see a wild beaver at work at Pleasant Valley. Meet in front of the red barn at Pleasant Valley on the side facing the wide gravel path. Dress to be outside on unsurfaced trails in the forecasted weather. The route covers up to one mile on gravel-paved or unsurfaced trails with a mix of flat ground, gradual slopes, and one or two hills; exposed roots and rocks are common, and recent weather may make the trail muddy, wet, or slippery.
