Details:
Alabama’s storied and historic Black Belt region is a premier destination for birding in the Southeast that features open prairie grasslands to forests to bottomland swamps, giving festival attendees the rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of many species of birds in pristine settings. As the Southeast’s largest prairie ecosystem, it is the only place you can find Wood Storks and Swallow-tailed Kites alongside Dickcissels, Painted Buntings, and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers.
The 6th Annual Black Belt Birding Festival kicks off Friday night with a free welcome party in Greensboro. You can choose your own itinerary from events across 4 different counties on Saturday and Sunday, with a keynote address on Saturday afternoon. Field trips are led by our expert guides.
Ticket information and more can be found at ALAudubon.org.
