Scavenger Hunt through Historic Elkmont

The Elkmont Historic District in Sevier County, Tennessee, is a unique area within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It evolved from a logging camp to a resort community and is now a preserved historic site with abandoned cabins, restored buildings, and many "stories". It was a thriving logging town for the Little River Lumber Company before becoming a popular vacation spot for exclusive clubs like the Wonderland and Appalachian Clubs, with structures dating from the early 1900's. The area is now accessible via the Elkmont Campground and features hiking trails and historic structures, it is also famous for its synchronous firefly displays.
The Scavenger Hunt acts as a fun "tour guide" through each cabin, structure, and cemetery to find historic markings or objects that tell the story of the time or the families who settled there.
Prizes for the Scavenger Hunt are sponsored by Oboz Footwear, supporting their "True to the Trail" and "One More Tree" initiatives, which involve planting a tree for every pair of shoes sold.
