Details:
Join us for the One Tomato Project, a gardening session inspired by the University of Maine's Piscataquis County Cooperative Extension, focused on teaching you how to grow your own food. Whether you love tomatoes or prefer other vegetables, this program is designed for everyone—seasoned gardeners and beginners alike. Discover how easy and cost-effective it can be to grow vegetables in various spaces like gardens, flowerbeds, containers, or hanging baskets.
During the session, you'll have the chance to grow not just tomatoes but also spinach, radishes, lettuce, and peas using provided containers and soil. Participants will receive guidance on building their own container gardens and can take seedlings or seeds home. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to enter a drawing for an established potted vegetable or herb, as well as receive complimentary seed packets.
The event will take place on Tuesday, June 9th, with two sessions available at 3 PM and 5 PM in the Community Meeting Room—no registration required. Join us to learn how easy it is to cultivate your own fresh produce and save on grocery costs!
