Details:
Join us for a summer of creativity and exploration at the Lakeland Public Library! On select Mondays from June 1st to July 13th, join our “Monday Fun Day: Fossils & Paleontology” event at the Larry R. Jackson Branch Library, where children ages 5-13 can dive into dino-mite crafts and activities focused on dinosaurs, fossils, and volcanoes. The final session on July 13th from 10 am-12 pm will feature hands-on explorations of what dinosaurs left behind, so please wear appropriate clothing to accommodate potentially messy crafts. Meanwhile, at the Main Library, children and teens ages 9-17 are invited to our “Kids' and Teens' Sewing Camp: Spools Out for Summer.” This free, four-class camp will teach participants how to sew with a machine, basic stitches, and hand-sewing skills, culminating in fun projects to take home. Registration is required and opens a week before the classes, with seating limited to ten participants. Please remember to register each child separately if attending together. Join us for these engaging summer activities! For questions about the Fossils & Paleontology event, contact Cassie Walters-Shantal at (863) 834-4294 or cassandra.walters-shantal@lakelandgov.net.
