Details:
Join us for the "Making and Tinkering with STEM: Teacher Workshop," an inspiring full-day professional development experience designed for educators of PreK–3rd grade classrooms. Led by nationally recognized educator Cate Heroman, author of "Making and Tinkering with STEM," and Paige Zittrauer, Master Instructor at the LSU Laboratory School, this workshop focuses on engaging participants in playful, inquiry-based design challenges that promote innovative thinking and problem-solving among young learners.
Through hands-on experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics, educators will explore meaningful practices for incorporating early STEM concepts into daily activities using high-tech, low-tech, and no-tech methods. The workshop will feature interactive learning opportunities, collaborative exploration, and practical strategies for curriculum integration, all aligned with Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) and learning standards.
Participants will also take part in design challenges inspired by children’s literature, fostering skills in creativity, curiosity, communication, and problem-solving. The cost of $150 includes a signed copy of "Making and Tinkering with STEM, Second Edition," a general admission ticket to Knock Knock Children’s Museum, continental breakfast, and a boxed lunch. Join us for a day of fun and professional growth!
