Join us for a free, family-friendly literacy and history program celebrating the life and legacy of Milton Hershey. Enjoy an engaging read-aloud about Hersheys journey as an entrepreneur and philanthropist, followed by hands-on activities for children of all ages. Kids can explore real cacao beans, dress up as Milton Hershey, take a Polaroid keepsake photo, color creative activity sheets, and take home small giveaways. The presenter a graduate of Milton Hershey School will also share a brief personal perspective on how the school continues Hersheys mission of helping children thrive. This interactive program blends literacy, creativity, and character-building themes like perseverance, kindness, and giving back. It also connects to this years Summer Reading theme by showing how leveling up ideas can make a positive impact on others. This program supports Basic Literacy as defined by the PA Forward Star Program. Please note: Children under eleven must be under the direct supervision of a responsible caregiver (at least 16 years of age) at all times while on Library premises, pursuant to the Librarys Policy on Unattended Children.
