Details:
Join us for an exciting summer filled with creativity and learning at the Children's Makerspace and Comic Book Club at the Kennett Library! Our Open Hours program offers themed activities each week, with no registration required, allowing kids to explore and engage from Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM, and all day on Saturdays. Themes include Wind Wands (July 7-11), where kids will harness wind energy to power an LED; Indi Robot Exploration (July 14-18), involving coding robots to navigate mazes; Mechanical Automata (July 21-25), where children will build moving machines from cardboard inspired by real-world inventors; and a Parachute Challenge (July 28-August 1) focusing on material science and gravity. Meanwhile, the Comic Book Club led by Mr. John invites children ages 8-12 to delve into the history of comics, engage in discussions about their favorite heroes, and participate in a Marvel vs. DC showdown (registration required). Note that children under eleven must be supervised by a responsible caregiver at all times while on library premises. Join us for a summer of innovation, literacy, and fun!
