Enjoy a special presentation by Dr. Melanie R. Hill, who will host a book talk and live violin performance centered on her new work, "Colored Women Sittin on High: Womanist Sermonic Practice in Literature and Music." Attendees will explore the contributions of influential Black women in literature and music, appreciating the works of writers like Zora Neale Hurston and Alice Walker, alongside the sounds of R&B, Soul, and Gospel from legendary artists.
Additionally, the JCFPL Bookmobile will be on-site, offering a diverse collection of books and resources. Join us at the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium at Liberty Science Center for an inspiring evening filled with literature, music, community engagement, and the chance to meet new friends. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate Black women's contributions to the arts! Please note that in inclement weather, the Bookmobile's schedule may vary.
