Original Tin: Tin Type Photo Shoot

Step into history at Original Tin, Brooklyn's premier wet plate tin type studio, now open at Industry City. On June 28, we're celebrating our Industry City debut with a day of 30-minute portrait sessions at a special introductory rate of $125. Walk in or book a time slot in advance. Tin type is a 19th Century photographic process that produces a one-of-a-kind image on a real metal plate. Each photo is hand poured and developed before your eyes. It's a magical process with a beautiful, ethereal quality unlike any other. We shoot with vintage large format view cameras and lenses that deliver extraordinary detail and presence you simply can't get from a digital camera. No files. No filters. Just you — or your pet — rendered in silver on a piece of metal that will outlast us all.
