Details:
Hear from storyteller Jean Bolley as she explores some of the people, myths, and legends central to United States folklore. Davey Crockett, Mike Fink, Pecos Bill, and other famous and well-loved figures are covered in these very American tales. For students entering grades 1-6. Drop-in; no registration required.
The Summer Lunch Bunch will serve a picnic meal at 11:45am. Meals are free and available for anyone to enjoy on a first-come basis.
This event celebrates America's 250th anniversary at the Howell Carnegie Library. A gift from the Carnegie Corporation of New York partially funds it. Part of the Carnegie Libraries 250 initiative, these funds honor the 250th anniversary of the United States and libraries' role as cradles of democracy.
Please note:
We will be sitting on the grass. Feel free to bring a tarp/blanket to sit on, sunscreen, hats, and/or bug spray.
In case of poor weather, this event will occur in the library with limited seating available.
Stay home if you are sick.
Library staff may photograph or videotape portions of this event and its attendees for use in promotional materials and on social media.
