Details:
Join us for this month's Books at the Bar, featuring "Homegoing" by Yaa Gyasi, a powerful narrative set in eighteenth-century Ghana, where two half-sisters are born in different villages unaware of one another. One sister marries an Englishman and lives a life of luxury in Cape Coast Castle, while the other is captured and sold into slavery from the same castle. Our discussion will take place at 6 p.m. on June 30 at Hopkinsville Brewing Co., located at 102 E. Fifth St. A limited number of copies of the book are available for check out at the HCCPL Front Desk. Books at the Bar is a casual book discussion group for readers ages 18 and older—feel free to join us even if you didn't finish the book or have thoughts on a different one to share!
