Immanuel Wilkins is an alto saxophonist, composer, and bandleader from Philadelphia who has emerged as one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Wilkins gained international recognition through his recordings as a leader and collaborations with artists including Jason Moran, Wynton Marsalis, Joel Ross, and Nasheet Waits.
Known for his commanding tone, expressive improvisation, and emotionally charged compositions, Wilkins combines modern jazz language with influences drawn from gospel, blues, and the broader Black American musical tradition. His recordings and performances have received widespread critical recognition for their intensity, ensemble cohesion, and compositional depth.
