Meet the Artist in the Speakeasy Series

Join us for our fourth evening of our new-this-year event, “Meet the Artist” in the Speakeasy - a cozy, informal evening of conversation, creativity, and community.
Meet July’s featured artist, Christine Smith, a State College local and has spent over 30 years perfecting her papercutting craft. When she isn't snuggling with her two black cats or exploring nature with her family, she’s translating the beauty that surrounds us into her art. Her process is entirely hands-on: she draws each design before hand-cutting it with a craft knife, often adding splashes of color by placing vibrant paper behind her delicate work. What to expect on July 1:
6:00: drinks + mingling
6:30: relaxed artist conversation:
7:00: hang out + browse art + chat
Grab a drink, settle in by the fire, and hear Christine talk about her work in a relaxed, conversational setting. Guests will also have the chance to purchase some of her original artwork (Venmo, cash or card).
