A program by Randy Peterson: Their Amazing Life Cycle, Migration, and How We can Help Them Flourish.
Artist and Monarch enthusiast Randy Peterson presents a fascinating look at the monarch butterfly life cycle. Using large and lifelike sculptures he has created, Randy will present many little-known facts about these beloved insects. This program is geared for all ages. Randy’s presentation will include successful techniques for planting milkweed and flowers that will help fuel the monarchs for their great migration.
Following Randy's program there will be a brief demonstration about monarch tagging for MonarchWatch at the University of Kansas.
We will meet at the amphitheater. (In case of rain, we will meet at the Enclosed Shelter.)
The program is free, but a State Park sticker is required.
