Unsung Heroes Day: Gearing Up to Defend

Did you know that 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the construction of Fort Schuyler on the Oneida Carry? In June, the fort was ordered to be rebuilt to defend the Mohawk Valley and the new United States.
Silversmiths, barrel makers, blacksmiths, surgeons, musicians and other tradesmen will demonstrate their crafts inside the fort from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Hands on experiences, appropriate for all ages, will show people how the past is recreated in present day by referencing artifacts preserved in the historic record.
