Details:
Join the "Collections & Research Tours: Behind the Scenes" at the museum, where you can step beyond the galleries and explore the Collections & Research department. Here, millions of years of natural history are preserved, studied, and brought to life. Guided by Robbie Mueller, the Director of Interpretation and Exhibits Management, these small-group tours provide exclusive access to areas of the museum usually closed to the public. You'll learn how remarkable objects like shells, fossils, and birds aid scientists in tracking environmental changes and making new discoveries, offering insight into the museum's hidden heart and the beauty of natural history.
Pre-registration is requested, though walk-ins may be accepted if space allows. This program is suited for ages 8 and up, with children aged 6 and older welcome. Admission is $10 for DelMNS members and $30.50 for non-members, which includes general admission to the museum for the entire day. Tours are available on the following dates: April 12, May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6.
