Details:
Ever wondered what it’s like to paddle under a sky full of stars? Join us for a magical experience at Douthat State Park, where you’ll glide across the lake by moonlight, surrounded by nature’s beauty. As you paddle, rangers will guide you through an exploration of the park’s nighttime wonders. Listen for the croak of frogs, catch a glimpse of fireflies or bats flitting through the air, and keep an eye out for majestic Great Blue Herons by the water. Learn about the rich history of the park and what was here long before the lake was created. And, of course, we’ll try to point out some constellations as we enjoy the starlit sky together.
Space is limited, so please sign up in advance at the Park Office; the cost is $6 per participant. Children must be at least 4 years old, and one participant per canoe must be at least 16 years old.
Please arrive 15 minutes early at the Boat Dock by the beach (not the Boat Launch).
