This summer, visitors can engage in a rich tapestry of artistic and cultural experiences. From June 16 to July 10, 2026, the Gallery will host "Juneteenth in the Gallery," an exhibit celebrating the spirit and resilience of African American history through works by artists such as Pearlista Henry, Dyke Wood, and Donald Earley, alongside Sounder illustrations by James Barkley. This exhibit honors freedom and heritage through the power of art.
Simultaneously, the Historic Masonic Theatre presents the VA250 quilt exhibit from May 1 to July 10, showcasing 38 exceptional quilts crafted by local artisans, reflecting artistry, tradition, and community spirit. Highlighting 19 Quilts of Valor, this exhibit pays tribute to service members and veterans, intertwining art with stories of gratitude and sacrifice.
Additionally, from November 13 to December 26, 2025, the FX² Regional Photo Exhibit will feature the work of local photographers, inviting visitors to vote for the People’s Choice Award. An artist reception on November 20 from 6 to 8 PM promises an evening of creativity and community engagement.
Lastly, the Annual Middle School and High School Art Show will showcase the talents of students from Covington Middle School and Alleghany High School, with a reception for students and the community. These events provide a unique opportunity to appreciate diverse artistic expressions and commemorate significant themes within the community.
