Details:
Join us for two remarkable exhibitions celebrating heritage, artistry, and community spirit from May 1 to July 10, 2026. At the Historic Masonic Theatre, the VA250 exhibit in the WestRock Room features 38 stunning quilts handcrafted by local artisans, reflecting tradition and community. Among them are 19 Quilts of Valor, created to honor and comfort service members and veterans, symbolizing gratitude and sacrifice. Concurrently, from June 16 to July 10, the Gallery presents "Juneteenth in the Gallery," an exhibition honoring African American history and culture through works by Pearlista Henry, Dyke Wood, Donald Earley, and cherished Sounder illustrations by James Barkley on loan from Susan Virginia Mead. Together, these exhibits offer visitors a profound experience that celebrates freedom, resilience, and the enduring power of art to convey our shared stories. We invite you to explore these moving installations and reflect on the meaningful narratives woven into each piece.
