Details:
Join us for the TED Democracy Philadelphia: Founding Futures LIVE event at the Main Library, where we will host a livestream of a daylong symposium featuring over 15 original TED Talks focused on the future of democracy. Streaming in anticipation of America's 250th birthday celebrations, this landmark event brings together bold thinkers and civic leaders to share innovative ideas and solutions that inspire and inform. In collaboration with Visit Philadelphia and the American Library Association, and sponsored by The Pew Charitable Trusts, libraries nationwide will host simultaneous satellite livestreams to broaden access to these vital discussions and encourage local engagement. After the livestream, attendees are invited to the community room for further discussion and light refreshments. Additionally, enhance your critical thinking skills and enjoy friendly competition by participating in our Chess Club during this engaging day of events. Both the talks and the discussion are free and open to the public, with separate registration required for each session.
