The Breakthrough T1D Walk is a series of high-energy, family-friendly events taking place in various locations, including Cochrane, Montreal, Grande Prairie, and Kamloops. Each event celebrates the Type 1 diabetes (T1D) community, uniting families, volunteers, and supporters with the common goal of improving daily life for those affected by T1D.
**Event Details:**
- Registration typically opens at 10:00 AM (local time) with the walks starting at 11:00 AM and concluding within a couple of hours.
- The walk distances vary: 3 km in Cochrane and Grande Prairie, and 3.5 km in Kamloops.
Participants can expect an engaging atmosphere filled with team spirit, smiles, and heart. Activities include a Family Fun Zone with various entertainment options, food offerings such as hot dog lunches and pancake breakfasts, and snacks available throughout the event.
**Additional Information:**
- Well-behaved, leashed dogs and service animals are welcome, and attendees are encouraged to clean up after their pets.
- Ample free parking is available onsite, and it is advised to wear appropriate footwear due to the uneven trail surfaces. Strollers should be all-terrain for outdoor use.
- Don’t forget to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during the walk.
