Details:
Collage is one of the most democratic art forms there is — accessible, expressive, and endlessly inventive. In this focused gallery talk, our Associate Curator of Adult & Community Access Programs explores select works from Drawing with Scissors: Collage from the Collection, revealing how two very different artists used the medium to powerful effect.
We'll take a close look at Frank Stella's bold experimentation with color in The Quarter-Deck and Miriam Schapiro's feminist storytelling in Heart in the Highlands — two works that demonstrate how collage can be both a fine art medium and a vehicle for meaning.
These 30-minute staff-led talks are designed to deepen your connection with the art and offer new ways of seeing.
