Details:
Minnesota has seven different species of fireflies, also known as lightning bugs. Come learn why and how fireflies glow, and what they are saying. Then, when darkness falls, help the naturalist crack the glow code to find out which species light up Blue Mounds’ summer nights. *Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for firefly catching.
Use the Main Entrance to meet at the Picnic Area.
Program is free to attend but all vehicles that enter the park require a valid MN State Park vehicle permit. Permits can be purchased online at www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/permit or in the park office for $7/daily or $35/year-round.
