Details:
As we continue celebrating the 250th anniversary of American Independence, join us for August’s Coffee with the Curator exploring Benjamin Harrison and the Bill of Rights, a conversation that spans generations of American leadership.
In the 18th century, Benjamin Harrison V refused to sign the U.S. Constitution without stronger protections for individual liberties and states rights, helping spark the call for what became the Bill of Rights. More than a century later, his great-grandson, Benjamin Harrison, led the nation during a period when constitutional rights were being actively tested, interpreted, and enforced.
Together, their stories invite reflection on how liberty has been debated, defined, and defended across generations - an especially timely conversation as America moves into the next 250 years of American history.
