Details:
Participants will learn what binary code is and its role in any computer. They will learn to count in binary and then use their new knowledge to encode and decode English alphabetic characters, illustrating how computers are designed to communicate information. Participants will also make a Binary Name Bracelet with beads to take home with them. Free. Tickets will be distributed beginning 60 minutes before the program begins. Recommended for youth and their families. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Almaden Library and the SJPL Foundation’s Pat Dando Endowment. Suitable for grades 3-5.
