Join us on Thursday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Public Library Civic Auditorium for "Texas & American Independence," featuring Texas State Historian Dr. Richard McCaslin. He will explore the crucial role that Spanish Coahuila y Tejas played in assisting American patriots in securing independence from Great Britain. Dr. McCaslin, a former professor at the University of North Texas and author of 22 books, including the award-winning “Tainted Breeze: The Great Hanging at Gainesville, Texas,” will discuss how international support, notably from nations like France and Spain, influenced the American Revolution. This event is co-sponsored by the General Bernardo de Gálvez Chapter NSDAR and the Allen Quilters Guild. Admission is free, with no tickets or registration required. If you can't attend in person, the program will also be streamed live at ACTV.org.
