Texas & American Independence

Join us on Thursday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Public Library Civic Auditorium for "Texas & American Independence," featuring Texas State Historian Dr. Richard McCaslin. He will explore the crucial role that Spanish Coahuila y Tejas played in assisting American patriots in securing independence from Great Britain. Dr. McCaslin, a former professor at the University of North Texas and author of 22 books, including the award-winning “Tainted Breeze: The Great Hanging at Gainesville, Texas,” will discuss how international support, notably from nations like France and Spain, influenced the American Revolution. This event is co-sponsored by the General Bernardo de Gálvez Chapter NSDAR and the Allen Quilters Guild. Admission is free, with no tickets or registration required.
