Details:
Join us for the public performance of the Alcazar Summer Drama Camp’s production of Robin Hood Naught in Nottingham by Jacob Dorn & Patrick Rainville Dorn. Performance by students ranging in age 4th -9th grade. With a quiver-full of gags, slapstick humor, and hilarious anachronisms, this is a Robin Hood like you’ve never seen him — or rather HER — before! The vain and pompous Prince John squeezes the purses of the simple folk of Nottingham by raising taxes and ordering the Sheriff to set up a speed trap. Luckily, Robin turns the tables on the benighted Sheriff with the help of her band of outlaws, including panini-craving Friar Tuck, sensitive giant Little John, girly-girl Maid Marian, wise-cracking Nurse Betty, and wandering minstrel Alan a Dale and his cheerleading Bench Wenches. Along the way, they also manage to thwart crybaby Prince John’s nefarious plans and take the braggart knight Guy of Gisbourne down a few notches. There’s merriment galore at the world’s first Renaissance Fair with horseless jousting, goofy disguises, silly chases, epic battles with pool noodles, and a show-stopping archery contest with moving targets. At last, with a guest cameo by King Richard, all things “naught in Nottingham” are set right.
