Join art teacher Callie Darland this summer for a fun and engaging once a month art program series! This fun art project invites students to design a pizza topped with ingredients that represent their unique personality — the sillier, the better! Using simple Sharpie markers and pan watercolors, students will explore overlapping to create a sense of space while also practicing proportion through drawing a self-portrait. Callie Darland holds a BA in Theatre Arts and a Master’s in Teaching. After 11 years teaching in elementary intermediate classrooms, she transitioned into elementary art education, where she loves helping kids build creativity and confidence through the arts. A lifelong lover of the arts, Callie is passionate about helping children see themselves as artists. She is also the founder of Kids Love Arts, bringing more arts opportunities to elementary-aged kids in the Stanwood-Camano community.
