Exhibition: The Captivating Unknown: Charting Our Relationship with the Cosmos

Details:

The exhibitions "The Captivating Unknown: Charting Our Relationship with the Cosmos" and “I remember when...” Reflections from the RMA Staff invite audiences to engage with the complexities of human experience through art. The first exhibition explores humanity's age-old fascination with the cosmos, presenting works that traverse the boundaries between the physical and the immaterial, highlighting personal interpretations of reality. Selected by curator Avryl Colón-Pérez, the pieces aim to translate universal wonder into tangible realities and reflect the idea of "fantasy within the possibility of imagination."

In contrast, the second exhibition, curated by the staff of the Rollins Museum of Art, examines memory and storytelling through selected works from the permanent collection. It emphasizes how objects and images encapsulate lived experiences and evoke personal and cultural narratives. By inviting reflection on the power of art as a vehicle for dialogue about the past and present, both exhibitions collectively underscore the profound connection between art, memory, and existence, fostering a multifaceted appreciation of what it means to be human.
