See the Union Pacific's famed Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive while floating in the Juniata river alongside the tracks!
The famed train is scheduled to depart from Enola at 9:00 am and head west along the Juniata River arriving in Lewistown at 12:45.
We can't guarantee you will see the train but it is very likely.
The photo above was taken by a friend recently at a previous stop. It was not taken from the Juniata River.
Union Pacific's famed Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will journey to the East Coast this summer for the first time as part of a historic coast-to-coast tour to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. The tour includes a Fourth of July celebration in Philadelphia, major display events in eight cities and more than 50 whistle-stops in 10 states, including stops for the first time in Indiana, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.

This is an easy 6-mile float with no obstacles. Normally it is a 3-hour rental, but you may have 3 1/2 hours today to relax and maximize your chances of seeing the train. Rental includes life jacket, paddle and basic instruction. $60 for a solo rental $110 for a tandem
