Teen Time! Mishima Coloring-Page Pottery

Join us for "Teen Time! Mishima Coloring-Page Pottery," a hands-on class where teens aged 13-18 can learn the intricate art of Mishima pottery. Over three weeks, participants will explore the techniques of this unique decorative method, which involves carving patterns into leather-hard clay and filling them with contrasting slip or colored clay. Classes will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on August 6th, 13th, and 20th.

In the first week, students will learn to throw a cylinder on the pottery wheel. The second week will focus on trimming and applying the Mishima technique to create their own coloring page on pottery. In the final week, students will finish their designs and add color. The workshop is instructed by Kara Carlson and lasts a total of six hours.
