Details:
The Youth Driver's Education program offers a state-approved driver safety course for high school students aged 14 to 17 in Sidney, Chadron, and Scottsbluff. This course is not available for those aged 18 and older. Participants must complete 20 hours of classroom instruction, achieve a minimum score of 70% on the final exam, and fulfill a 5-hour driving requirement with an instructor, successfully passing a driving test. To enroll, students must possess a valid learner's permit and can only miss two classroom days; exceeding this limit will result in being dropped from the course without a refund. Makeup work is required for absences. Classes in Scottsbluff are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break. Registration is available online.
