Ready to bring a touch of magic to the studio? Discover the beautiful art of Middle Eastern dance and theatrical fusion in our brand-new 7-week choreography series! This summer, our Bellydance Fundamentals course is taking flight. Over eight weeks, you will learn a gorgeous, complete choreography that seamlessly blends foundational Middle Eastern dance technique with enchanted theatrical elements—all while incorporating the dreamiest prop: Silk Butterfly Wings! This course is perfect for absolute beginners, as well as seasoned dancers looking to explore theatrical fusion.
What You’ll Learn & Master:
The Fundamentals: Essential posture, grounding, and fundamental hip drops, lifts, shimmies, and travel steps.
Theatrical Fusion & Prop Work: How to manipulate, frame, and float with vibrant silk butterfly wings to tell a story through movement.
Choreography Building Blocks: We break down the staging, musicality, and transitions so you can easily memorize and connect each piece of the dance.
A Magical Performance Opportunity!
Students who complete this choreography series will have the exciting opportunity to take what they've learned and perform live at Arabesque's Fairy-Themed Show on Saturday, August 8th! To make sure everyone feels completely confident, polished, and stage-ready, we will wrap up our series with a full dress rehearsal during our final week of class on August 5th. There is truly nothing like the feeling of spreading your wings and shining under the stage lights with your dance community! (Performance is completely optional, but highly encouraged!)
