The Portsmouth Street Cruise is making a come back. The route will be along 2nd street in downtown Portsmouth. The event starts at 8pm and ends at 11pm. Check the event page for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/1939061373463052/?active_tab=about
Please be sure to follow the following guidelines:
NO BURN OUTS.
NO REVVING.
ACT ACCORDINGLY.
As the event approaches, here are a few important things to know:
A detailed map and route signs will be posted closer to the event. Please do not drive or cruise the route ahead of time so we can respect local residents and businesses and keep a good relationship with the community.
Parking will be available at Valley Wholesale Foods. Please keep the lot clean and respect the property. We are also considering how to best use this space (public parking vs. car display) and welcome feedback.
Parking along 2nd Street and Market Street should be reserved for classic and special interest vehicles when possible.
Several local businesses will be staying open later than usual, and some will have live music. Please support them, be respectful, and thank the staff for helping make this event possible.
We ask everyone to keep the area clean and be respectful of nearby homes and businesses.
The Portsmouth City Police Department will be present, and a zero-tolerance policy will be in effect for burnouts, drifting, excessive revving, 2-step, or any unsafe behavior. If you’re unsure whether something is allowed, don’t do it.
This is a trial event, and we’re working to show that community car events can be done safely and respectfully so we can continue hosting them in the future. Your cooperation is what makes that possible.
