Details:
The Written Word Dyslexia Therapy Training (TWW-DTT) offers two courses for educators in Summer '26: an Advanced Course and an Introductory Course focused on multisensory teaching techniques to assist students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences. Both courses emphasize the implementation of the Orton-Gillingham-based program, "Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia," authored by the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas. This evidence-based curriculum is accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) and is aligned with the International Dyslexia Association's Knowledge of Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Trainees will have the opportunity to pursue a Certification (CALT) from the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) upon meeting the course’s two-year requirements, as well as earn graduate-level credit towards a Master’s degree in Special Education or Reading through King’s College, PA.
