The Bloomingdale Park District is dedicated to providing recreation programs, facilities, and open space for enjoyable leisure time experiences that benefit the community. Established in 1964, the district manages over 160 acres of open space across 13 unique parks, offering amenities such as playgrounds, walking paths, sports fields, and recreational facilities like the Johnston Recreation Center, Oasis Water Park, and Westfield Walking Track. The district also oversees the Bloomingdale Park District Museum, housed in the village's oldest building, which features art exhibits. Their mission emphasizes efficiency, affordability, safety, and convenience in all offerings, aiming to be a critical component of the community and a primary resource for leisure. The Bloomingdale Parks Foundation supports these efforts by generating financial resources for parks, facilities, and open spaces, and by providing scholarships to ensure access to programs for individuals and families.
