The Golden Eras of Jamaican Music: NYC Ska Orchestra featuring Larry McDonald of The Skatalites

Following last year's sold-out show, get ready to rocksteady with the New York City Ska Orchestra featuring Larry McDonald of The Skatalites on his 89th birthday! The 20-piece big band of top-notch musicians perform lush, original compositions and arrangements of songs from the iconic golden eras of Jamaican music - rich, historic, and culturally- ska, mento, rock steady, reggae, and jazz from the 1950s and 60s.
The NYCSO is led by arranger, trumpeter, and vocalist Kevin Batchelor and master drummer Carl Wright. The powerhouse collective have recorded and/or performed with nearly every great Jamaican music artist including Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Lee Scratch Perry, Skatalites, and Toots & The Maytals and work with the leading Jamaican artists today.
