SONGWRITING WITH BOBBY WEISS

Ages 8 – 18, All levels
Have you played other people’s songs? Great! Now learn how to write your own! We’ll go through the creative process beginning with an idea in your head and finishing with a written, arranged and ready to perform song. Students can work together as a band or solo. There will be a short performance on the last day of camp so family and friends can hear and see what you’ve created. Let’s rock some originals!
Bobby Weiss grew up in Woodstock and has been playing in bands since the 1980s, most notably, Talon and Pajamazon, which feature original music written or co-written by him. He comes from a Music Business family, learning about music and songwriting from his Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee father, who penned such classics as The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Can’t Help Falling In Love, and What A Wonderful World. Bobby continues to write and perform, and enjoys nothing more than sharing his knowledge, experience, and love of music with kids at the Rock Academy, where he is a full time show director.
