Matt Lewis - Lead vocals, guitar, insanity Jay Rodgers - Lead guitar, vocals, beer knowledge Chris Beam - Bass, vocals, groovy facial hair Brian Rex - Drums, percussion, vocals, counts and numbers...all the numbers Bio : Matt Lewis, a product of the 90’s music scene, who embodies everything that it stood for, has been both singing and playing guitar for many local Upstate NY bands over the past two decades, including The Vernacular, Wylder, Bad Apple and most recently Lewis and the New Imperials. It was this latest music venture where he and Jay Rodgers began their musical journey. Jay, a guitarist from the 80s, had been playing in a number of projects from rock to country when he took over guitar duties next to Matt for the Imperials. The two immediately hit it off and knew that with the music of the 90s/2000s on the rise, it was time to do the genre the justice it deserved. Chris Beam, also a huge fan of the 90s genre, had been playing bass in the DUB/Reggae scene in New England when he relocated to the Capital District. Looking for players, and sharing a common interest in both music and craft beer, he and Jay met and the third piece of the project fell into place. All that was needed was someone to hold it all together… Looking back to his 80’s roots and connections, Jay reached out to an old friend, Brian Rex, a virtual Tommy Lee from back in the day. It took no more than a phone call and Brian, eager to be back in the music scene, was in. And thus, the era of The Flannel Kings had begun…
