Understanding Trauma Bonds: Attachment, Survival, and Harmful Relationships (Trauma-Informed)

Details:

Class: Understanding Trauma Bonds: Attachment, Survival, and Harmful Relationships (Trauma-Informed)
Date & Time: Thursday, July 23 *6:00-8:00pm
FKCE Trainer: Xochitl Major, Psy.D., LMFT
Class Description:
This training helps resource parents understand trauma bonding as a survival-based attachment often seen in youth who have experienced neglect, abuse, or exploitation. It explains why these bonds form and emphasizes that they reflect unmet needs and coping strategies—not poor choices. Participants learn how to respond with empathy, avoid retraumatization, and build safe, supportive relationships while maintaining boundaries and addressing common misconceptions about why youth stay connected to those who harmed them.
