Details:
Parlor Greens is one of the most exciting new organ trios in heavy instrumental music, bringing together three individually stellar players into something even greater. Drummer Tim Carman, guitarist Jimmy James and organist Adam Scone combine blues, soul, jazz and funk into a sound that is wholly their own.
Scone is a veteran of the soul revival scene who has played Daptone recording sessions since their inception and learned from legends including Melvin Sparks and Dr. Lonnie Smith. A true master of his instrument, he bends the organ to his will with the touch of a seasoned craftsman. Guitarist Jimmy James, known worldwide for his work with The True Loves and the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, brings what may be the most dangerous right hand in soul music, a signature funky approach recognizable to even the most casual listener.
Rounding out the trio is Tim Carman, who cut his teeth touring the world with blues group GA-20. His steady, heavy pockets and deep funk sensibility provide the backbone for everything Parlor Greens does, and their debut LP makes clear he was exactly the right man for the job.
Parlor Greens is also appearing on the SJZ Break Room Stage on Saturday, August 8 at 8pm. You’ll need an All Stages or higher wristband to enter, and Priority Access and above ticket holders have first-in entry.
