POT 05 - Beginning Handbuilding (Gould)

Join us for an engaging pottery experience with two foundational classes: "POT 05 - Beginning Handbuilding" and "POT 13 - Beginning Wheel." In the handbuilding class, students will explore the art of creating ceramic forms using pinch, coil, and slab techniques, while learning important safety guidelines for the ceramics studio. The tuition includes a $98 supply fee, covering one bag of clay (stoneware, raku, or Lizella earthenware) and firing space, although students must provide their own tools. In the wheel class, perfect for beginners, participants will learn essential throwing, glazing, and firing techniques to create small forms like cups, bowls, and saucers. Both courses emphasize safety practices and require all work fired at Callanwolde to be produced in the Pottery Program studios.
