Woodworking – Chopsticks & Hair Sticks with Molten Makerspace

Join the Woodworking class, "Chopsticks & Hair Sticks," hosted by Molten Makerspace, and discover the joy of crafting with your hands. Open to students ages 16 and up, and those aged 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult at no additional charge. Participants will learn basic woodworking techniques, including using a hand plane, sanding, and applying a food-safe finish, allowing them to create two pairs of eco-friendly chopsticks or artistic hair sticks. This class is suitable for all skill levels, with a focus on beginners. Safety is paramount, so please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair as adherence to the dress code is required for participation. Sticks will need to soak in mineral oil overnight for proper finishing, and must be picked up within a week. Students will be provided with care instructions, sandpaper, and mineral oil to maintain their creations, although Molten Maker Space is not liable for damaged items. Cost is $40 for TAG members at the Mentor level and above, and $50 for nonmembers. Instructor: Tannis Boyajian.
