Independence Day at Old Salem

Celebrate Independence Day at Old Salem on July 4th, as we honor America’s 250th anniversary in the spirit of the historic Moravian festivities from 1783. From 10 AM to 4 PM, enjoy a day filled with live music, hands-on activities, and captivating historical interpretations themed “Becoming American.” Experience the vibrant sounds of fife and drum, musket fire, traditional games, and the reading of the Declaration of Independence. Don’t miss the MESDA America 250 Spot Talks titled "Patriots and Patriotism," highlighting symbols of freedom and patriotism through decorative motifs. All activities are included with your standard admission ticket, available for adults at $30, students at $16, and free for children ages 0-3. Discounts are offered to veterans and active duty military personnel, with free admission for the latter and their families from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day.
