Join us for a free concert in the park to celebrate America's 250th anniversary on Saturday, July 11. The Salem Philharmonia Orchestra will perform at 11 a.m. for one hour in the Capitol Mall park.
The Salem Philharmonia Orchestra will be performing select patriotic musical scores to commemorate this historic event. Bring your picnic blanket, or lawn chair, and sit on the grass or under a cherry tree to listen this concert.
The orchestra will be led by guest conductor Damian Berdakin, South Salem High School Orchestra Director and the program comprises:
• John Philip Sousa - Stars and Stripes Forever
• Edwin Eugene Bagley - National Emblem March arr. Clark McAliste
• Leroy Anderson - Fiddle Faddle
• Jay Ungar - Ashokan Farewell arr. Bob Cerulli
• Scott Joplin - The Entertainer arr. D. S. Delisle
• America the Beautiful Fantasy arr. J. Frederick Muller
• George M. Cohan - You’re a Grand Old Flag arr. Steven L. Rosenhaus
• Bill Holcombe - American Celebration
• John Williams - Hymn to the Fallen
• Aaron Copland - Saturday Night Waltz and Hoe-Down from Rodeo
