Sit and Paint

Join us this summer for a creative and engaging series of events designed for kids entering grades K-12! Experience the "Sit and Paint" workshops led by local Northside artists DJ Rikkifuriosa and DJ EB Marie, where art prompts will foster creativity, self-discovery, and mindfulness—materials provided. Additionally, kids in grades 2-7 can join the "Bring Your Own Book Club," featuring quiet reading time, book discussions, and exciting activities, with the option to bring their own books or choose from our collection—no registration required. For younger participants ages 5-12, the "Let's Read Summer Drop-in" offers a chance to play literacy games and practice reading with friendly volunteers. Join as often as you like! Both events are sponsored by the Friends of the Hennepin County Library and MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency).
