Specialty Tour July 2026: “Stories of Service”
Added to your home tour at Historic Mayowood this July is Stories of Service, a special tour highlighting the Mayo family’s deep commitment to country and their longstanding tradition of military and public service.
Learn about:
• Dr. Charlie’s service as a brigadier general in the Medical Reserve Corps of the U.S. Army during WWI
• Hear Dr. Chuck’s letters to Alice that he wrote while stationed in New Guinea
• See Mayo artifacts from WWII
• Learn about the Mayo women’s public service
Offered at no additional charge, this specialty experience includes the full general house tour, with Stories of Service presented as a special addition in honor of our nation’s 250th birthday.
Pricing:
Adults (13 & up): $20
Children (3 - 12): $10
Children under 3: not recommended
Guided tours (60 minutes) on the hour. Last tour begins at 3 pm.
Sunday: 12pm—4pm
Wednesday: 10am—4pm
Thursday: 10am—4pm
Saturday: 10am—4pm
